All the gilding we do is done in or 24 carats 1000/1000ths.
This quality is very rare on the market because you will find 22 carat sheet at best.
Often, it is mentioned "fine gold plating" which means that you are not informed of the quality of gold, this lack of gold of information generally hides a very poor quality.
Why is the quality of gold so important?
The more other materials a gilding contains in its alloy, the more these materials will oxidize over time.
A gilding paint does not contain gold but brass and copper, the color of this paint turns brown in 1 to 2 months when exposed to outdoor air. The more polluted the ambient air, the faster the colour becomes dark brown and drips on the stone.
